Deborah “Deb” Koopman, DNP, FNP, grew up in rural Minnesota. After losing her mother to congestive heart failure (CHF), she was inspired to pursue a career in medicine. That experience gave her unique insight into caring for patients with CHF, and she knew it would become an area of focus where she could make a meaningful impact. She earned her double major from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, specializing in geriatrics and palliative medicine.
Deb found her work family at Aviva Health, and going to the clinic each day excites her. She appreciates her supervisors who, with their backgrounds as medical assistants, understand the daily challenges of clinic life and are always ready to help. She values the ever-changing nature of her work and the high level of patient care at Aviva Health, where both leadership and staff make her role fun, rewarding and challenging.
Deb has lived in Oregon since 2020 and frequently travels to South Dakota to visit family. She loves Roseburg’s mountainous scenery, takes every opportunity to visit the ocean and enjoys secondhand shopping, gardening, farming, and spending time with loved ones. She also has two cats, Skittles and Milo.
