Maribel Ramirez, LPC, CADC ILicensed Professional Counselor

    Biography

    Maribel Ramirez is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and certified substance use counselor (CADCI) with over 17 years of experience in the wellness field starting with her work as a yoga/meditation teacher and licensed massage therapist. She received her MS degree form Walden University in 2018 and has since been working with underserved, rural communities, LGBTQIA2S+ community, as well as BIPOC and Spanish-speaking clients. 

    Maribel’s approach is trauma-focused through the lens of EMDR and Internal Family Systems. She also utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She is a life-long learner who continues to delve into the impact of historical and intergenerational trauma and how these might present as symptoms we experience as individuals and collectively. She is a strong advocate for the importance of culturally appropriate healing methodologies in the field of mental health and continues to learn how to best serve clients in ways that resonate and fit their cultural experience. 

    Maribel is originally from Miami, Fla., and still marvels at the life path that led her to the beautiful state of Oregon. In her time off, she enjoys gardening, hiking, travel, and exploring new places. She loves animals, trees, rivers, mountains and being outdoors as much as much as possible with her partner and two dogs. She is very excited to be living in the Umpqua Valley area and serving the people in this community.
