Dr. Richards was on the Dean’s list at Western University of Health Sciences where he received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. He conducted his residency of Family Medicine at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC. He served as a Staff Physician at Connor Troop Medical Clinic at Ft. Drum, NY and then served his country as a Battalion Surgeon in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. He earned the Bronze Star Medal in Operation Enduring Freedom 2011 and an Army Commendation Medal from Womack Army Medical Center in 2010. Dr. Richards joined Umpqua Community Health Center in Roseburg in 2013 and currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at UCHC. His excellent leadership skills, education and experiences allow him to be an excellent resource to our future residents, our patients and to Douglas County where we honor and treat many veterans. Outside of clinic, Dr. Richards enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 kids, playing soccer and other sports. During the summer months you will find him kayaking the North Umpqua River. Dr. Richards is also active in his local church.
