Family medicine resident Dr. India Chaney Peter was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. Since high school, she knew she wanted to become a physician, finding fulfillment in helping others and making a difference in people’s lives.
She attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Georgia. Her special interest is osteopathic manipulative treatment, and her goal is to practice outpatient family medicine.
The welcome and support she received from the faculty, residents and staff at the Roseburg Family Medicine Residency solidified her decision to join the program. Their approachability, passion and commitment to providing quality care in the community further confirmed her choice.
Dr. Peter enjoys cooking and baking from scratch. She also likes hiking, exploring outdoors and playing the ukulele.
