Carmela Solimine, MDCore Faculty

    Dr. Carmela Rosa Solimine graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Italian Studies. She obtained her medical degree from the American University of Integrative Sciences in the Caribbean and completed her clinical training in the USA.

    Upon returning to Canada, Dr. Solimine worked as a physician researcher at the Hospital for Sick Children in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she has been published in various international academic journals.

    Dr. Solimine successfully completed her family medicine residency at the University of British Columbia. During her time there, she served as senior co-chair of the resident resilience committee. While working in in a residency teaching site in North Vancouver, she taught medical students and family medicine residents.

    Her professional interests include a full scope of family medicine, women’s health, sexual health, contraception, maternity and newborn care, pediatrics, child mental health and dermatology. She is interested in post graduate medical education and physician wellness, quality improvement research, and primary care procedures.

    Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking and spending time with her young family. She enjoys traveling and visiting friends and family around the world.
