The holidays will soon be upon us, and yes, for many of us these celebrations will be much different from those in years’ past.

While our gatherings may not be as large, the intent and meaning behind them will still very much be a part of the season.

So long as gratitude, generosity and hope remain the central part of our celebrations, the importance of the season will not be lost. And our efforts to stay safe and protect our loved ones and friends this year will greatly improve our chances to celebrate traditionally when the season returns in 2021.

Here at Aviva Health, we’re doing our best to spread good cheer and promote good health throughout the holiday season. On Veterans’ Day, Wednesday, November 11, we’re hosting a Free Flu Shot Clinic at the Reverse Veterans’ Day Parade held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. We invite you to join us to celebrate and show appreciation for the brave men and women who served our country, and while your at it get a free flu vaccination to protect yourself, your family and friends throughout influenza season.

For the third year in a row, Aviva Health is partnering with Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge #1943 to host Operation Warm & Cozy, an effort to collect warm winter clothes, blankets and other cold weather accessories for seniors residing at the Roseburg VA and local assisted living facilities. For more information on this worthy drive, please download the flyer.

And lastly, Aviva Health is a presenting sponsor of the Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights, held from November 22 to January 1 at Riverforks Park in Roseburg. This long-standing holiday tradition is a safe and fun way to celebrate the season and get Douglas County families in the holiday spirit.

So yes, while our holidays may be different this year, we remain rich in gratitude, generosity and hope. It’s those things that are truly worth celebrating.

Be safe and stay well.

Take care,

KC
