Paravinder Kaur, MDFamily Medicine Resident

Dr. Parvinder Kaur was born and raised in a rural area of Punjab in North India and earned her medical degree from Crimean State Medical University named after S.I. Georgievsky. Her passion for medicine began at a young age after witnessing first responders and physicians provide lifesaving care during a school building collapse when she was 13 years old. Personal experiences, including the loss of her mother to complications of diabetes and limited access to health care resources in her community, further inspired her commitment to serving others through medicine.

Dr. Kaur is passionate about comprehensive family medicine with interests in preventive care, women’s health, chronic disease management, behavioral health integration, and caring for underserved and rural communities. She also hopes to continue developing skills in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and office-based procedures while providing evidence-based, patient-centered care. Her long-term goal is to become a well-rounded family physician who improves access to care and builds meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.

She chose the Roseburg Family Medicine Residency because of its supportive, community-focused environment and strong emphasis on compassionate patient care, teamwork and hands-on learning. During the interview process, she was especially impressed by the warmth and professionalism of the faculty, staff and residents, as well as the culture of mentorship and personal growth within the program.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kaur enjoys jogging, writing poetry, painting, photography, and cooking. She values wellness, creativity, and spending time outdoors. She and her husband recently married and are excited to relocate to Douglas County with their adopted street cat, Mano Singh. Together, they look forward to exploring Oregon’s hiking trails, rivers, waterfalls, and local communities while building a new home in Roseburg.
