Dr. Monteiro has been providing compassionate medical care to the residents of Douglas County for many years. Prior to that he practiced medicine on the East Coast.

He strongly believes in a patient first philosophy. He finished his medical school at Government Medical College, Miraj, India. Dr. Monteiro then completed his family medicine residency from Virginia Commonwealth University in Virginia and general preventive medicine with public health residency from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Dr. Monteiro is Board-certified in family medicine, general preventive medicine and addiction medicine. Some of his academic interests include resident education, integration of behavioral health into primary care, medical mission experiences and substance use disorder management. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his sons, exploring the West Coast, hiking, skiing, playing tennis and badminton.
