Celebrating Excellence: Aviva Health’s 2025 Roseburg Family Medicine Residency Graduates
We’re thrilled to congratulate the third graduating class of the Aviva Health Roseburg Family Medicine Residency — an outstanding cohort of eight new physicians ready to serve communities across Douglas County and beyond.
This class marks a significant milestone for the residency program, which launched in 2020 in partnership with CHI Mercy Health. With this graduation, a total of 24 doctors have completed the program in just five years, strengthening the pipeline of dedicated family physicians trained specifically for the unique needs of rural healthcare.
All eight residents in this year’s class successfully passed the family medicine board exam. The program also emphasizes Lifestyle Medicine, equipping residents with tools to address chronic disease prevention and improve quality of life through diet, sleep, exercise, and stress management. This curriculum qualifies them for dual board certification in Family and Lifestyle Medicine.
The residents completed a broad and immersive clinical training experience that included rotations in outpatient family medicine, hospital-based care, addiction medicine, mental health, obstetrics, geriatrics, and procedural skills. The partnership between Aviva Health and CHI Mercy Health Mercy Medical Center created a supportive environment for comprehensive training in whole-person care.
We are especially proud to share that four of this year’s graduates are staying in Oregon to begin their medical careers. Two of them are putting down roots right here in Roseburg — one will join the team at CHI Mercy Health Mercy Medical Center, and the other will begin practicing with us at Aviva Health. Their continued presence in our Douglas County helps ensure continuity of care and strengthens local access to high-quality primary care.
To our graduates: Your compassion, resilience, and commitment to rural health care are inspiring. We’re excited to see the difference you’ll make in the lives of your patients and communities.
Congratulations, doctors! We’re proud to be part of your journey.
