Tawnie Goetz-Kennedy, MA, is the director of the Area Health Education Center Southwest Oregon (AHECSW), housed at Aviva Health in Roseburg, Oregon. A Southern Oregon native, she brings over 23 years of experience in 911 emergency medicine to her work inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and a master’s in leadership, Tawnie combines her passion for teaching with her extensive healthcare background to help students explore career pathways in the health sciences. Her commitment to workforce development is demonstrated through her previous role as director of a federal grant at Umpqua Community College, where she led a program that exceeded expectations in preparing students for career success.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tawnie’s unique blend of frontline emergency medicine experience, educational expertise and grant management makes her particularly effective in connecting rural students with healthcare career opportunities and building partnerships between educational institutions and healthcare providers throughout Southern Oregon.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t

Lacey Ferguson has been the ReConnect Fellowship Program Coordinator since its inception in 2016. As an education and program consultant, she specializes in helping organizations build and sustain programs that enrich their local communities. Lacey is passionate about mentoring ReConnect Fellows, facilitating professional learning, and building strong relationships with healthcare organizations in the AHECSW service area. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her favorite part of being the ReConnect program coordinator is welcoming new fellows into the program and supporting them in their journey to becoming a healthcare provider. Lacey spent 10 years as an educator prior to stepping away from classroom teaching to pursue a career in program consulting. <\/span><\/p>\n

She received a Master\u2019s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Oregon. She resides with her husband and three sons on a ranch in Douglas County.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t
